Winter Training Program
in Partnership with Apogee Mountain Biking
This Strength and Conditioning Off Season (Winter) training program, prepared for ZEP Racing, is a progressive 6-month off-season training plan that consists of strength and conditioning work designedspecifically for gravity mountain bike athletes.
- 3x gym sessions per week
- Includes strength work and interval style training
- Mobility sessions – Integrated into gym sessions, with supplementary
- mobility and stretching to be added in rest days
- Program is designed to be used with regular riding schedule
The goal of this program is to help riders of all abilities become better all-round athletes, in turn making them better mountain bikers.
The programs are designed in a progressive manner to eliminate muscular imbalances, develop and refine athletes’ movement patterns, and build a strong base to allow for increased speed and power. We will achieve this by working together to create a program that best fits the athletes training environment and allows
The Apogee Elite Strength and Conditioning program is built for riders who have previous experience with some gym training but are looking to take their performance to the next level with a structured and accountable off-season training program.
- Initial consult & YTP education session
- Additional consult at the beginning of each training block
- 6-month detailed training plan outlined in YTP
- Access up to 3 standardized workouts each week - focusing on addressing athletic qualities needed to optimize performance on the bike.
- One (1) additional supplementary session (recovery, core, mobility, stability and flexibility)
- Video demonstrations have been included to ensure movements and exercises are being performed correctly.
